Description:
This position will require the review and evaluation of a variety of hardware and software items to ensure they meet established functional requirements and specifications prior to acquisition. This will require the independent preparation and delivery of various reports, studies and overviews identifying problems while outlining solutions to satisfy end user requirements. Software installation, maintenance and associated technical support of client/server systems are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Review and evaluation of hardware/software to ensure functional requirements and specifications are met before acquisition. This includes preparation of reports/studies, assessment of end user needs and required software functionality as well as direct interface with distributers or developers as needed.
b. Identify hardware problems and associated solutions to satisfy/meet end user requirements.
c. Install software and provide client /server systems support.
d. Ensure automated system compatibility/interface with selected or installed software to meet designed end user requirements.
Required Experience and Past Performance:
a. Six (6) years or more experience in software evaluations and client/server system
b. “Hands on” experience in evaluating/recommending/maintaining hardware and software selected to meet specific end user requirements.
c. Ability to prepare and present narrative reports/evaluations on variety of hardware to assist in acquisition decisions.
d. Demonstrated experience in maintaining/updating day to day requirements of client/server systems.
e. Strong oral and written communication skills.
The ability to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance is required.

Education and Other Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a four year college /university or 10 years of directly related technical experience. Professional/technical certifications will be considered in lieu of formal requirements.
